We live in a modern science-technology world with many great discoveries and updates being laid before us every day.
Let’s imagine we get to experience the real-world environment in an enhanced manner, quite possible in today’s tech world with computer-generated perceptual information. Well yes! You guessed it right, I’m writing about augmented reality(AR).
According to sources – Augmented reality is a highly visual, interactive method of presenting relevant digital information in the context of the physical environment.
So what is this Augmented Reality and how is it going to shape the future?
Augmented reality (AR) involves overlaying visual, auditory, or other sensory information onto the world in order to enhance one’s experience.
Let us see an example for Augmented Reality
Suppose you are standing right before a historic monument and pointing your smartphone with AR tech embedded in towards the monument.
AR will give you data like the history of the building, information about the surrounding, such as the cafes, other structures, key elements in the visibility, it also enhances the vision by adding virtual relevant objects to the real world. Additionally, AR will use satellite navigation/GPS to project where you are. AR is that cool! AR interprets digital content and information onto the physical world, as they exist in your space, thereby giving an enhanced user experience

- NAVIGATION
Navigation is made easy with the invention of technology and AR will make it easier by using the phone’s camera with the GPS, to make the users experience the live view in front of their vehicle thereby giving the user an amplified experience while they transverse from one location to another
- IN HEALTHCARE
AR increases the sensory perception during the surgery for surgeons. Doctors use technology to do surgeries. In the long run, AR will make the surgery procedure easier by combining the needed aids like MRI or X-ray or any other needed information into a single view for the surgeons to complete the task in an easier manner.
- EDUCATION
Supplementary information related to the subject can be added using AR for the students to see and understand in a single view. Graphics, images, videos are superimposed into a student’s real-time study environment
